You can say the steer wrestling was a tight match coming
into the finals and everyone made sure it would stay that way. Going into the 2016 NRA Finals, Duston
Stephens had just under a $100 lead over Hardin cowboy Trevin Bauman. The young cowboy from Hardin made his move to
the top in the first round with a 5.8 second run to put him first in the round.
Duston would then answer right back
placing in the 2nd round and getting the 3rd round win. Trevin had some unfortunate luck in rounds 2
and 3 and wasn’t able to cash in. This
would set Duston up for 2nd place in the average as well as the year
end title. Congratulations Duston on
your 2016 Northern Rodeo Association Steer Wrestling title.
