Joseph Brent Reynolds Obituary

Joseph Brent Reynolds, 41 of Corvallis passed away at his home Sunday, June 29th, 2014. Joe was born in Missoula, MT July 30, 1972 to L. Brent (Butch) Reynolds and Merlynn Brown Reynolds McOmber and was raised in Corvallis. In 1991, he graduated from Corvallis High School and attended Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT. Joe loved to Rodeo and followed in his dad's footsteps and hit that dusty Rodeo Trail with his brother Josh and fellow Bronc Rider Craig Miller for many years. He worked various jobs along the way but he was most comfortable on the back of a horse - bucking or not. He was a talented Bronc Rider and in 2003 he won the Northern Rodeo Association Saddle Bronc Rider Championship. He loved to tease his dad that it didn't take him near as long as it took Butch to win Champion of Montana. Joe and Josh were crowd favorites at the Ravalli County Fair for years. Joe was Western through and through and his favorite job besides Riding Broncs was working for Don and Russ Habel guiding hunters in the Bitterroot Selway Wilderness. He liked telling us stories about “Those eastern Dudes”, and their “Un-Western” way of doing things. But Joe got them straightened out. He knew that Big Country like the back of his hand and loved it like no other. Joe didn't like fences and there wasn't one for hundreds of square miles. Joe was just born about 100 years too late. Joe was also talented with anything involving machinery and was an accomplished welder. He could make anything with his two hands and many of you have the things he made. He took a job in North Dakota driving a semi truck. He and his dad were in partnership until the time of his death. He met and married Sarah Richardson of June 26, 1998. They have two sons, Sean of Rocky Boy and Quentin Brent of Glendive. Joe was truly one of the good guys. He was polite, nice, funny, thoughtful and respectful of others. He would do anything for anybody at anytime. He loved his family above all. He loved his friends and got great enjoyment out of them. He loved spending time with all of them. He is already missed so much and nobody who knew him will forget him. Joe is survived by his wife Sarah; sons, Sean Rocky Boy and Quentin of Glendive; mother, Merlynn (Cal) of Corvallis; dad, Butch (Paula) of Ekalaka; grandparents, Ida and Earl Reynolds of Ekalaka; brothers, Josh and Ryell (Jordon) of Ekalaka; sisters, Jake (Luke) of Missouri, Debra Cheyenne of Ekalaka; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Quentin and Nettie Brown; great grandparents Charlotte and Berkley Reynolds, John and Beth Cooley and Uncle Jim Cooley. He was also preceded by his favorite horse, Clyde. Joe, We love you very much and in that bucking chute in the sky we can hear you say… “Outside Boys!”
