Smooth My Feathers
Our condolences go out to the Tew Family. Yesterday their great horse Smooth My Feathers went on to greener pastures. She was 26 years old. Feathers was a domineering force in the NRA. Colt Tew won the NRA Junior Barrel Racing title 1994 - 1996 and 1998. Cadee Tew won the NRA Ladies Barrel Racing title 2000 - 2002. This great horse will never be forgotten.

Meet Your 2013 Junior Barrel Racing Champion
Tayla Moeykens is the 2013 Northern Rodeo Association Junior Barrel Racing Champion. This year was a great year for Tayla! She won 17 checks through out the year, not only did she win plenty of checks to have her in the drivers seat coming into the finals but she also would have won or placed in the Ladies Barrel Racing through out the year with the times she was turning in. Tayla was riding her family raised & trained horse Cruzer who was honored with the Junior Barrel Racing Horse of the Year award. The 2013 finals was a little more special for Moeykens, getting to compete at the finals with one of her teachers and good buddy’s Bridger Chambers, the 2013 Northern Rodeo Association Champion Steer Wrestler. They both got to take a championship back home to Three Forks, MT. Congratulations Tayla and we can’t wait to see you next year and the years to come.

Meet Your 2013 Team Roping Champions
Jason Carlson and Justin Marquez are no strangers to the pay window. The rancher from Harlowton and the horse trainer from Bozeman started the season off strong by winning Wilsall, placing at Big Timber and Harlowton. They also ended tough by winning one of the biggest rodeos of the season, Hamilton, MT. The finals did not go as expected for the duo but luckily they entered the Northern Rodeo Association Finals in the top spot by more then $2,500. Carlson and Marquez earned the right to rope last during the 1st round of the finals, so when Travis Winters and Tanner Sorge received a no time, Jason and Justin knew they had the 2013 Team Roping title in the books before they even threw their ropes. Congratulations to Jason and Justin on their year-end championship.
