2012 NRA Personality of the Year

Danny Halverson of Big Timber was voted “Personality of the Year” for 2012.  This award is voted on by the NRA/NWRA Board of Directors and is awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond for the associations.  Danny has been involved with the NRA/NWRA for several years and puts forth a lot of effort in everything he does.  We appreciate you Danny and am proud to say that you represent the “Personality of the Year “ award very well.

JUMP START OUR LARRY JORDAN SR CRISIS FUND AUCTION

Our “Larry Jordan Sr. Crisis Fund” helps out our cowboys and cowgirls when they need a helping hand.  At the NRA Finals every year, we have a silent auction during the banquet.  All the items are donated and brought in by several different people but it takes a lot of items to bring in the big bucks!!    It seems like everyone starts hustling to get donations right before the finals, so let’s make it our goal to start gathering items now and work on it all summer.  We have talked about getting a big item to sell raffle tickets for all year.  ANY IDEAS?????  We also accept contributions to our crisis fund at any time.

Meet Your 2012 NRA All Around Champion and 2012 NRA Heeling Champion

Sam Levine did not come into the NRA Finals leading the Men’s All Around, but when he left the NRA Finals Banquet he was carrying the 2012 Champion All Around Saddle and the 2012 Champion Team Roping Healing Saddle as well.  So it just goes to show you “IT’S NOT OVER TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS.”  Congratulations Sam!!

Meet Your New NRA and NWRA Board Of Director Members

As most of you know, we have had some newly elected Board Members but for those of you that don’t let us introduce them.

President - Walt Anseth from Helena.  Walt has been the Steer Wrestling director for many terms. He is very enthusiastic and comes with a lot of rodeo background and is doing a great job.

Vice President - Vance Ruff from Belgrade.  Vance needs no introduction.  He is a past President and Director at Large.  He is also a announcer at many NRA rodeos as well as our Finals.

Director at Large - Tyler Holland from Bozeman.  Tyler served as President for two terms and was instrumental in getting the NRA Finals moved to Butte. 

Steer Wrestling  - Jordan Holland from Bozeman.  Jordan is a pistol.  He is full of life and is a pleasure to be around.  He will do well as a director and always has a lot of ideas to share.

Ladies Breakaway Roping - Cally Goyins from Helena.  Cally has been associated with the NWRA for several years and has always been involved in Rodeo.  She has big shoes to fill but has stepped right into them and is doing great.

Junior Events - Deb Lloyd from Helena.  What can you say about Deb Lloyd?  She is always there to help the NRA/NWRA in anyway she can.  She has served as the NWRA President and still serves as the NWRA Director at Large.  She is not afraid to take on anything new and will do great representing the our junior contestants.

Eastern Committee Directors - Tom Atkinson from Poplar and Kaare Gaustad from Scobey.  Welcome aboard guys!!

NWRA Advisory Board - Marlene Dreesen from Circle.  Marlene is no stranger to the NRA.  She has been the Finals Secretary for several years and secretaries most of Big Circle’s Rodeos.  Sparky is a very luck man.

A HUGE  “Thank You” goes out to our past directors, not only for their expertise, but for the time and effort that goes into being a board member.  We greatly appreciate you!!!

Marlene Dreesen is Styling!!

If you see Marlene Dreesen take a look at her purse!!  She is sporting a NFR go-round buckle.  Wes Stevenson won the first go round at the NFR on J Bar J Rodeo’s Freckled Doll with an 87 point ride.  Way to go J Bar J Rodeo!!!!  It’s always fun to watch for Sparky up on the chutes.

BILLY IS A DAD!!

Saddle Bronc Rider, Billy Hendrickson and his wife Jenna are proud parents of a 7lb. 14 oz. baby girl.  Her name is Lillian and is 19 inches long.
